Midday Feeding Programme

The Midday Feeding Programme significantly contributes to the improvement of the school children’s performance in various ways:

1. Improved Nutrition: Many children in this community suffer from malnutrition due to lack of adequate food. The meals provided by Fahari Community Initiative meet the nutritional needs of the children, aiding their physical development and overall health.
2. Increased School Enrollment and Attendance: The Midday Feeding Programme encourages regular school and library attendance since children are guaranteed at least one nutritious meal per day. This enhances their learning and performance.
3. Improved Cognitive Function: Proper nutrition has been linked to improved cognitive function. When children are well-fed, they are more likely to focus, concentrate, and perform better academically. This has been witnessed among the children who benefit from our Midday Feeding Programme.
4. Alleviating Short-term Hunger: Hunger can distract school children and negatively affect their academic performance. By providing them with at least one nutritious meal a day, this programme helps alleviate short-term hunger, enabling the children to concentrate during lessons.
5. Enhancing Social Equality: Through the Midday Feeding Programme we are able to level the playing field for underprivileged children by ensuring that they get at least one balanced meal a day. This helps to reduce social inequalities and foster a sense of unity among the children coming to the library, regardless of their backgrounds.
6. Economic Benefits: In the Midday Feeding Programme, the food supplied comes from local farmers, thus supporting the local economy. This helps to improve the overall living standards in the community.
